Preparing the machinery and equipments for winter
All the machinery and equipments should be prepared for winter. A special attention must be given to the harvesters and spraying machineries.
Harvesters.
It is a must to clean and wash the harvester – after the autumn harvesting season is over and the machine is stored at the garage.
We have to put baits with raticides in the sensitive parts of harvester (flexes, transmission belts, gaskets) these actions being in conformity with the requests and recommendations of harvesters producers.
Also the freezer’s concentration that has to be put at the engine is controlled.
A full lubrication must be done and, for a good organization and management, is recommended a list of body parts which will be repaired when the harvester is needed. After facilities, the harvesters must be stored in covered garages.
To protect the battery we start the engine once at every two weeks and let it running for 10 – 15 minutes.
Spraying machineries.
Before is it placed in the garage the following operations has to be done: Cleaning and washing of the entire installation.
After washing the installations must be dried very carefully.
Dismantling and storing will be done in close space and protected for parts and sensitive components. If are kept in outdoor, the pump will be protected with antifreeze.
The sowing machines will be cleaned, washed and lubricated therefore the piping and distributors are free of seeds and leftovers. Raticide baits will be put in the tanks for protection. Also, to ensure a better protection we put them in garages or warehouses.
The machinery for soil must be cleaned and lubricated.
