Rapeseed pests and diseas, due to weather conditions
We are at the end of April and as we anticipate, in South part of country soil preparing actions and sowing are delayed and overlapped. Although the soil is warmer which favored sun flower, soya and maize sowing the weather is still unstable and is changing from a day to the other leading to delays of campaign finalization, and on the other hand creates favorable conditions for pests and diseases attacks.
The attack of Meligethes aeneus in this moment has reached highest intensity. Although treatments were applied (one or two) the crop must be monitored to control pests appearance and to evaluate attack intensity in order to intervene once again if is needed.
Although in normal situations there are no problems in this year, because of weather conditions favorable the attack of diseases – in some areas very intense – of Blackleg Fungus (Phoma lingam).
Fungicide treatments must be in a normal way preventive.
